Hours of Operation

The U.S. Consulate General, Belfast is open from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  All offices are closed on Saturday, Sunday, and American, British and Northern Irish holidays.

If you are flying into Belfast:
There are two airports - Belfast International (approx. 23 miles from the Consulate General) and Belfast City (approx. 8 miles from the Consulate General). Ulster Bus provide a bus service from each airport to the Europa Buscentre behind the Europa Hotel in central Belfast.

If you are taking a bus from central Belfast:
The 8a bus route serves Stranmillis Road. It departs from Donegall Square in the center of Belfast, and from outside Brennan's bar opposite the Europa Hotel in central Belfast, at frequent intervals throughout the day. Depending on traffic, you can expect the journey time to be anything between 15 and 45 minutes. Take the bus to the Richmond Park stop on Stranmillis Road. The entrance to Danesfort Park is on the right just after Richmond Park.

If you are approaching from the motorway network around Belfast by car:
Take the Junction 2 King's Hall exit off the M1 onto Stockman's Lane. Continue straight on at the Outer Ring/Lisburn Road junction onto Balmoral Avenue. At the junction of Balmoral Avenue and Malone Road, take a left. As the road widens, enter the right filter lane and take a right turn onto Stranmillis Road. The Consulate is located in Danesfort Park housing estate which is approximately 0.25 miles from the turnoff on the left. Access is on foot only - there is no parking in Danesfort Park.

If you are approaching from Belfast City Centre by car:
Head south towards Queen's University. Just after the University, you will come to a fork in the road. Take the right fork. This is Malone Road. The junction of Malone Road and Stranmillis Road is approximately 1 mile out of town on the left. Take this left turn onto Stranmillis Road. The Consulate is located in Danesfort Park housing estate which is approximately 0.25 miles from the turnoff on the left.  Access is on foot only - there is no parking in Danesfort Park.

Where to go once you have entered 'Danesfort Park' :
Drive forward to the roundabout.  To the left you will see a large office building belonging to the Ulster Bank. The Consulate General is located behind and to the left of this office building. Take the pathway that passes the front entrance of this building. Drive forward to the roundabout.  To the left, you will see the gates to the Consulate General.

Parking

Disabled visitors to the Consulate General with the appropriate parking permits can email consularbelfast@state.gov to make special parking arrangements.  Please ensure that you email at least 2 working days in advance of your appointment
